Another Scenic Highway and Cedar Break National Monument

This was another travel day and LO! again we got to drive another SCENIC HIGHWAY!!!!  Melodie was the driver this time (and I had a hard drive too!!  It was tunnels and curves and downhill grades!!)  so I get to tell you about the wonderful vistas.

Great mountains and pines interspersed with lava flows.

High up we passed this beautiful lake called Navaho Lake. It was very calming (for me) . We then stopped at Cedar Break National Monument . It was a small site so we had to unhook our car and drive up. It was beautiful but it took us longer to switch cars around than look at the canyon.

We completed the drive without any problems and arrived in St. George, UT safe and sound.  That evening we went to a musical, The Little Mermaid.  I wasn't sure how that story would translate into a musical but I went with an open mind.  The location was an outdoor amphitheater at the end of a red rock canyon called Tuacahn and the production was outstanding.

We got to take a backstage tour before the show which was very interesting.  There was several water "features" (they flooded the stage and had a curtain of water on which they projected images) and the actors wore "wheelies" which enabled them to float across the stage.  We had a great night but it was very late (11PM) for us, so we headed back to the RV as we had an early bus trip in the morning.
